New Renewable Energy Transmission
November 14, 2011 - Southern California Edison (SCE), the utility serving Los Angeles, has proposed two new large transmission lines to serve renewable energy projects in the Mojave Desert. These will probably be 500 kV transmission lines cutting through prime Mojave Desert scrub areas, including potentially valleys where clonal creosote rings thousands of years old reside.
The Pisgah-Lugo project would connect the proposed Calico Solar Project to the grid.
